The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe has surpassed expectations with a first-week gross of $15.4 million at Australian cinemas. To date, the film has taken an estimated $19.5 million, easily eclipsing the $15.7 million by King Kong, which has been on screen 12 days longer.
